Adorable+6 month old= Fun Session

I have to admit that I didn't write down in my appointment book the age of the child that I would be photographing for this session and went into it totally unprepared. But no worries, Miss Tayla made my job easy peasy! I just love this age, next to newborns this would have to be my favorite age to photograph.

The B Family

The B Family welcomed their sweet little girl into the family only 9 days ago. Dad was such a pro, he should receive the title of "Baby Wrangler of the Year", and made the session go sooooo smooth! Little Miss Piper had a mind of her own and knew exactly how she wanted to pose, there was no tricking her into doing what the photographer wanted. As soon as I understood that we were working on her terms we were able to get some adorable images. I even think she enjoyed herself during the mommy/baby portion of the session. Just look at that smile!

Thank you for allowing me to photograph your family, your children are simply adorable. Mr. G is such a well-behaved and well-mannered 4 year old, and is welcome back anytime he would like.

Can you Believe it?

I am having a hard time believing that this little doll is the same baby that only a year ago........looked like this!!

It is so fascinating for me to get to watch my little newborn customers grow and change during their first year.
I have really enjoyed working with this family, especially MR.T who reminds me so much of my older brother Toby at this age. He is quite the character, although he wasn't really in the mood for a photo session, I believe I got a few keepers!

Playing catch-up!

I have been so busy with sessions that I almost forgot to post a sneak peak for this beautiful momma-to-be. It was a pleasure to meet you and I can hardly wait the few short weeks to meet the new little one!
Coming soon: a family session, a couple kiddos, a maternity, an E-session, and a new little girl!
I have a busy, busy day ahead of me so look forward to seeing more sneak peaks.

Newlyborn Tyler

I have had the pleasure of photographing this little man's 2 older sisters and he was as much of a perfect model as they were. He was so wide awake and alert, holding his head up and follow my voice. I was able to get a ton of images like the first one with wide eyed looks.
We were also able to get some gorgeous mommy/baby shots. I love to be able to capture the emotion between a new mom and her sweet little boy.

Thank you for sharing your sweet little guy with me, it was a pleasure to get to meet him!

My 1 Year "Blogiversary"

One year ago this month I started this little blog, not expecting it to become so well-received. In the past 8 months it has had almost 10,000 visitors. In the past 10 days alone I have had visitors from all over , Indiana, Texas, New York, Minnesota, and even Australia. I am a little bit addicted to checking the stats of my visitors. I love to see where they are from, how long they visited, and which blog entry seems to be the favorite. What I don't see very often is comments, and I love comments. So if you want to make a girl happy, please, please leave me a quick message!
And to honor this occasion I will be offering a contest with the largest prize ever!
(cue drum roll) Da Da Da Daum!!
A Free Session and $100 print credit!!
Please email (put Blog contest in the subject line) or leave me a comment about your favorite image on my blog or website. I love to hear feedback from my customers and future customers on which style of images you like. Or if you just think the sweet little girl/boy in the image is the cutest!
Contest ends May 31!

Eagle Scouts

eagle scout –noun
a boy scout who has achieved the highest rank in U.S. scouting

The EAGLE SCOUT AWARD is the highest award available to youth members of the Boy Scouts of America. Very few Scouts make it this far, only about 2% of all scouts, and it is a great achievement for all parties involved: the Scout, his family, his community, his unit, and the Boy Scouts of America. Congratulations Guys for all your hard work!

I am so pleased to announce that my application has been approved and I am now a volunteer photographer for The Littlest Heroes Project, a non-profit based organization made up of photographers nationwide. Congratulations Class of 2008!

I had the privilege of photographing our church's Senior Godparent Group before they graduated and moved on to bigger and better things. I can't even imagine how great it has been for them to have had Brian and Karen as their mentor/godparents for the last 4 years, they are the most down to earth, funny, and caring couple. Good Luck in whatever choices you make after graduation, I have a feeling they will all go on to do great things!

"God doesn't require us to succeed; he only requires that you try." -Mother Teresa

I would also like to congratulate the graduates that I had the pleasure of photographing this past year: Tiffany, Drew, Omar, Bailey, Mallory, Breanna, Alex, Marni, Paige, Kelly, Ashley, David, William, Patty, Tessa, Jessica, Dustin, Kandis, Brittany, Cassandra, Jenni-Lin, Joel, Megan, Amanda, and Carmalee! It was a pleasure getting to know each and everyone of you, and thank you for choosing Crumrine Photography.

Larry+Jaclyn

Beautiful wedding, adorable couple, and the sweetest Flower Girl and Ring Bearer ever! We had dreary gray skies and rain the whole wedding, but as the couple prepared to leave the church the clouds parted and they had some gorgeous sunshine!

Congratulations! Good Luck on the move and starting your new life as Husband and Wife!

You'll be seeing a ton of sneak peeks, so stay tuned!

My calender is booked up for last week and the next couple weeks so you will be seeing me post just about daily. Lots of adorable kids and a couple engagement sessions coming up, so hopefully this beautiful spring weather will hold out for a few more weeks. I am definitely not ready for summer, the hot humid days and the bugs, so I hope we have a nice loooong spring!

This is my second session with this little guy, and he keeps getting cuter. He even braved the mud and sprinkles to get some outdoor shots at my new favorite location.

Thank you for coming in for another session before your big move! Good Luck in Texas!

Happy Mom's Day

Sleep in late, breakfast in bed, no laundry, no dirty dishes, a clean house, perfect 'angel' kids... a girl can dream can't she!?! Well actually I can't even be considered a girl anymore. My 2 year old told me yesterday "You not a girl you a mom!". So a "Mom" can dream can't she!?!
Enjoy your day tomorrow, spend time with your kids and don't forget to call your Mom!
Here's a few images from my engagement session on Friday. We had the perfect overcast, cool spring day, the weather most photographer's dream about!

Thank you for putting up with me dragging you all over Lincoln and for making you "cuddle"!

Little Man Norman

Such a sweet sweet baby, he was sleepy and posable during the first half of the session and then content and wide eyed for all the brother shots. I loved this wall in the boys' bedroom, I couldn't resist incorporating it into the session.

Can you tell how loved this little guy is? He has such a great big brother!
Thank you for letting me into your home to photograph your beautiful little boys!

They kept me on my toes!

Here's the sneak peek I promised these two spunky kiddo's mom. They were on the go the whole session. So what do you do to get a 3 and 4 year old to sit still? Stick them in a tree!!!

Amanda and Scott, I had a blast during your session, your kids are adorable. Thanks!

Newborn Braydon

I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable new little guy this morning. He had a bit of a rough start but now at a ripe old age of 9 days he is healthy and able to come into the studio to start his modeling career.
Here's one with his gorgeous mom.
Sweet Dreamer!
I have 2 more of the Newborn/Maternity offers left, so if you are expecting or know of someone who is hurry and give me a call to reserve your complimentary session.

Newborns

I had the privilege of attending an awesome photography workshop hosted by one of my favorite newborn and maternity photographers, Sam Puc. At this workshop she gave us tips and pose ideas to use during maternity and newborn sessions. Now the only problem is that I don't have any newborns or pregnant moms to practice on. So I am offering 5 free newborn or maternity sessions with complimentary prints included. The only stipulations are, the maternity session(s) needs to be done after 32 weeks (or for multiples whenever you have a nice round tummy), the newborn session(s) needs to take place before the baby is 14 days old (preferably before 10 days), and you must give permission to use the images on my website and in advertisement. Now if you know someone who is pregnant or has a newborn let them know about this special, if they mention your name I will give you a $25 gift card to use towards any future session.

I worked in the garden yesterday!

I have high hopes that in the next two years I can get my garden landscaped to my liking and use it for an outdoor studio. Last year I put in a shade garden, stone lined pathway, a retaining wall, cleaned out 2 of the old gardens and planted new perennials. This year I have cleaned up another garden and planted more perennials. We will be installing a picket fence around the shade garden, a privacy fence around the whole yard, reseeding the grass, and putting in a ton of new plants. On our list for next year is to tear out the kids old playset (they are getting a new one this summer!), and put a large garden with a waterfall and pond in its place. I'm not nearly as excited about this one as Bryan is, I know I will be the one to do all the upkeep on it.
While I was out working yesterday I noticed how cool the tulips and daffodils looked with the backlight from the sun, so I ran inside to get the camera and try to get some shots. I didn't get the look I was going for but I did get some pretty nice shots to share. If my neighbors saw me out in my backyard crawling around in the gardens I'm sure they thought I was crazy!
This first one I titled "I (heart) daffodils".
I'm not very creative when it comes to giving my images titles so these last three will remain nameless, unless you want to leave me a comment and help give them a title!

The comment section is just below where it says"Posted by Courtney..... 0 comments."
Click on the "0 comments" to leave your title for the above images. There just might be a prize it for the creative and brave person/people to leave me a note! HINT..HINT!!!

Cute quote

I saw this quote today and thought it was funny:
Photographers are violent people. First they frame you, then they shoot you, then they hang you on the wall.
LIFE has been crazy busy around here, with end of the school year projects and activities, ballgames and dance, doctor visits, hospital visits, more doctor visits I haven't even had a chance to get my camera out of it's bag. Poor neglected thing sits collecting dust, I'll try to drag it out today to spruce up this so called Photography blog.
My May calandar is really starting to get full so if you need to book a session please call soon!

April 23, 2008

We are back already.

We went in for pre-op yesterday and found out that A.J. has an infection so we have to reschedule her surgery. She was very unhappy as they had already started prepping here and now we have to go back at a later date to have all the painful pre-op procedures repeated.

April 21, 2008

When it rains it pours!

I posted about my husband and father's surgery's a couple weeks ago, Bryan's went well, but my Dad needed to be sent to Lincoln for 2 more surgery/procedures. He is home and on the mend now, although his recovery will be a little longer than expected. We are now getting ready for my oldest daughter's surgery at Omaha Children's Hospital. She will be in the hospital for probably a week and I will have limited Internet access so I will return all emails after I am home next week. I will have my cellphone with me so if you need to reach me please leave a voice mail and I will return your calls in the evenings or as time allows. And.. last night my second oldest daughter decided to jump out of a swing, landing on her foot. We spent yesterday evening in the E.R., looks like a bad sprain but we will have to keep an eye on it. She has a habit of breaking bones that don't show up on the first x-rays, so hopefully this one is only a sprain.
I am hoping this is the end of our "bad weather" days and everyone will recover nicely.

I had a great time shooting this adorable couple for their engagement session, they were so open to letting me do my thing. I have a ton of images to go through still but I promised them a sneak peek, so here are my favorites so far.

One more 2008 Senior

I was able to squeeze in one more 2008 Senior, although I do have a little more time if there are any other's still needing them before Graduation. He was a great kid, very easy to work with, he even obliged with his mom's request for a smile and a shot without his ballcap on. He will be going off to Marine's bootcamp after graduation, so I want to thank him for volunteering to protect our freedom.
