Fall is finally here, but I am just not happy with mother nature this year. Where are the bright reds and yellows and oranges?? We do have plenty of browns, light greens, and some sickly looking yellow trees around here but none of the great fall colors that I so look forward to. Meet the Golden Girls of Autumn!

So I might have posted this blog entry a little prematurely, look at the beautiful golden tree we found yesterday during my session with these two stunning sisters.

These eyes captivate me!

You want me to let you in on my secret to getting eye contact with a 2 year old? I ask them to look in the camera and smile, and if they do "Elmo" or "Dora" (substitute their favorite character) will wave at them. This only works 1 or twice, if I'm lucky. I didn't get a big smile from this cutie, but I still love her inquisitive stare.

I couldn't decide on my favorite version of this image, so I am sharing all 3. I love the simplicity of the black and white, but then I lost those amazing blue eyes, so I did a vintage conversion. I would love to hear which one you like best.

An Evening with the Stars!

Some of you may be aware that my oldest daughter was born with Spina Bifida, which means cleft spine, an incomplete closure in the spinal column. There are an estimated 70,000 people in the United States are currently living with Spina Bifida, the most common permanently disabling birth defect. People with Spina Bifida may also deal with hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain), full or partial paralysis, bladder and bowel control difficulties, learning disabilities, depression, latex allergy, and social and sexual issues. The Spina Bifida Association of Nebraska http://www.spinabifidanebraska.org/ is organizing a Wine tasting Gala on October 26, 2007. At this Gala I will have a table available displaying my images as I have started a new project to help showcase the individuality of Spina Bifida. I will be photographing any child or adult with Spina Bifida to be included in a book, that will hopefully tie into the already released video " A Journey of Wonder". I might be a little biased since this is my baby. He is growing and changing so much that I wanted to get some nice 2 year images of him. I am always a little jealous when I am able to capture adorable images for my customers, because my kids seem so hard to photograph.

I love this image, and I am so glad that one of these turned out. He would run ahead of me on the path and then turn to make sure I was following.

Here he is actually posing for me, this lasted all of about 20 seconds and then he was off running again.

Senior with a Funky Style!

I love this girl's style, she looks like she belongs in some stylish ad campaign!

By the way which crop do you like best? I'm leaning towards the closer crop as it really shows off her stunning eyes.

Sweet little B!

This little one did so good during her session, she gave me some great wide eyed images and then she dozed off so I could get some adorable sleeping shots.

I think this area of Nebraska must have a high population of beautiful seniors, either that or I really lucked out with this one. She was just as sweet and easygoing as she looks which made her session easy and lots of fun! Hope you enjoy your sneak-peek!

My Baby Girl's New Haircut

Daughter #3 got about 5 inches cut off her hair and she looks so grown up now. I decided to take her out for a photoshoot to document her new Do!

It's Just not Fair!

My kids all have very long eyelashes, but it's not fair that my boys have the longest of all. I loved how the light was hitting the tips of his lashes!

Miss Curls and her Handsome Brother!

These two were a blast to shoot, full of spunk and absolutely gorgeous! I was extremely excited when their mom specifically asked for close-ups, as that is my favorite style of image!

I was afraid that I wouldn't get any of Miss J in focus because she was always on the go and sooooo fast, but I was pleasantly surprised by how many adorable shots I ended up with.

I had to share this one!

I was uploading images from my session this morning and knew I had to share this one right away. Is she not the cutest? Look at those eyes and that curley hair! Thank you, Miranda, for letting me photograph your adorable girls! I'll share some of her big sisters in a later post.

It's hard to believe that my baby is now 2. He looks so grown-up in this picture and he is really starting to turn into a sweet little boy. He loves Thomas the Train, Cars, copying everything we say, and following his sisters and brother around making messes.

All Boys!

Most photogs will tell you that boys are harder to photograph than girls. So when I noticed that I would be having only boy sessions last week, I started to worry. You see most boys hate the camera and just want to have the session over as soon as possible. But I think you'll agree that the camera loved these cuties, OOPS!, I mean handsome boys!! Thank you guys for being such good sports during your sessions.

And to top it all off, they all had Beautiful Blue eyes!

Non People Pictures

I do take pictures just for fun, I forget to share them though! Sometimes I would get in the car and go out driving by myself and have a little fun with my camera. Life has gotten too crazy and those little trips never happen. Maybe I can make a date with myself and go out driving one of these evenings. If I do I'll share some of my shots with you! But until then, here are a few non-people shots that I like!
